It has tremendous firepower but it's a sluggish beast even using boost turns in the blue zone and flight assist off techniques. Without at a minimum an 8A Distributor, 7A Thrusters, a gigajoule of shields, and an 8B/8C Power Plant for it, I wouldn't bother. Here's an example of a good PVE Bounty Hunter Anaconda in the 300 million range. If you've got enough credits set aside to equip it with everything except an 8A Power Plant and Military Grade Composite bulkheads, I say go for it. I love the Anaconda as a bounty hunter, but you really do want to be able to mostly A-rate it before making that jump or it won't be as enjoyable as it could be. It's a preference choice I'm asking about and I appreciate the fact that you prefer the Anaconda. However this also depends on who gets the jump on who. Sidewinder always wins because Anaconda cannot hit it. An opposite skill only example would be: equally skilled pilots in a sidewinder and conda. Without empirical data (testing) you are basing your statement on pure numbers and it is impossible to account skill into that. Flying backwards in a conda and shield tanking doesn't count as skill even though it is a good (lame) tactic. Also equally skilled pilots doesn't take tactics into account. The question is based on bounty hunting not PVP. I am still under my power needs even and have an a distributor so increasing power won't change anything.

#Elite dangerous anaconda vs python trial#
I have tried many weapon combinations and have decided on mine after trial and error. Obviously not taking module hp into account. I would argue that maxing out the power plant doesn't matter if your weapons are maxed out. But is it worth it?Įdit: I'm fairly open to all ships and if you think the keelback is the best bounty hunter ever please tell me how it works for you. The Anaconda obviously has more utility, better jump range and is way tankier.
#Elite dangerous anaconda vs python full#
In fights with anything smaller than another Anaconda I would be using only the same weapons as my Python but maybe for longer at full power. The Anaconda's huge point can only be a fixed plasma cannon and the 2 small points are essentially moot. I honestly don't see how the Anaconda can efficiently improve on this load out. My current load out on my Python is 3 large pulse lasers and 2 medium multi cannons to destroy components. It is easily heavier on shields and armor but the primary weapons are essentially the same when bounty hunting. The Anaconda has 2 small and 1 huge weapon mount over the Python along with 5 more utility mounts and the possibility for a class 7 shield. I went from Vulture to a python and while the loss of maneuverability was hard to deal with but I've been able to learn to use it. So I'm still a few mil away from an Anaconda but I'm in my Python and I'm loving it. I'm trying to decide if the loss of maneuverability and speed of an Anaconda is worth the extra firepower, shields and armor over my Python.
