I literally save $1k a year with zero sacrifice. Including EVERYTHING involved with having a cell phone (the $25 I spent last month for a replacement G6 when mine stopped charging, extended manufacturer warranty, small rider on my renter's insurance in case of theft/loss, chargers/accessories, extra data the rare times 12 GB didn't cut it, taxes) I have spent $1k in about two years versus $3k in the two years prior to switching. (Its camera is meh, but Moto's flashlight gesture is shockingly more useful to me anyway.) If anything, I like my phone and service better now than I did with the big name provider and the expensive lease they pushed on me. Because cracking made it ineligible for return, it cost me more to "keep" my then-useless fragile Galaxy Edge at the end of its 2-year lease than it did to purchase the brand new, unlocked, similarly featured and styled Moto G6 that replaced it the same day. I ported my number to Mint from Sprint where I had had an individual unlimited service plan, a "premium" phone, and exorbitant insurance with a high deductible. Thanks, Mint, for helping me join the 21st century and get rid of my dumb phone! I recommend Mint to all of my friends because no matter which plan they go for, it's affordable and the costs are upfront with zero surprises. I do not need to use a ton of data and only really use it to order Ubers late at night or to check directions while I'm out, which is another reason why my fiancee got me the phone/service so that I'd stop calling them. However, even with these drawbacks, the service is perfect for me and my lifestyle. The 3 reasons why I haven't rated Mint 5 are: 1) Sometimes the service coverage isn't super strong compared to other services, 2) I sometimes do not receive all of the picture messages that are sent to me, 3) Traveling internationally can be a drain on the expenses and if you run out of the data/messages you purchased it's difficult to re-up without wifi access (wish there was a warning sent that I'm running low and need to add more money). I've now been a Mint customer for over 2 years because of their affordable service. My fiancee heard of Mint and surprised me for my birthday with a used iphone and a SIM card from Mint with a 3 month subscription to try it out. Before joining Mint, I was still using a flip phone (at the age of 32) because I couldn't fathom spending $100 a month for a data plan and a smartphone.
